There are tactics you can use to alleviate stress and impact your staff\u2019s sanity, productivity, and ability to avoid mistakes.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:Georgia, serif;\">Let\u2019s look at three&nbsp;ways you can prioritize employee wellness&nbsp;right away.&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:Georgia, serif;\"><strong>Employee Wellness Idea #1:&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Spatial recognition<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:Georgia, serif;\">The first thing most people think of with workplace health is ergonomics, the study of people in their working environment to prevent discomfort or injuries \u2014 or, in plain English, making sure everyone has the most comfortable workspace possible. Anybody who\u2019s had an aching neck or a pain singing up their mouse arm after a few hours at their desk knows exactly what we\u2019re talking about.<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:Georgia, serif;\">If you have workers who sit at a computer:<strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:Georgia, serif;\">Get chairs that support the spines they\u2019re supposed to. Workers will feel better and won\u2019t take personal days to go to the back doctor. Don\u2019t skimp on price for adjustability and sturdiness.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:Georgia, serif;\">Adjust the chair\u2019s height so your people\u2019s feet rest flat on the floor or on a footrest. Adjust armrests so arms gently rest with shoulders relaxed.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:Georgia, serif;\">Have your staff keep phones, staplers, or printouts close. This keeps reaching to a minimum. Put everyone\u2019s mouse within easy reach and on the same surface as the keyboard.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:Georgia, serif;\">While typing or using the mouse, wrists should be straight and upper arms close to the body with hands at or slightly below elbows. Under the desk, make sure there\u2019s clearance for knees, thighs, and feet. If the desk has a hard edge, pad the edge or use a wrist rest.&nbsp;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:Georgia, serif;\">Place monitors directly in front of workers, about an arm\u2019s length away. The top of the screen should be at or slightly below eye level. Place your monitor so the brightest light sources are to the side.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:Georgia, serif;\"><strong>Employee Wellness Idea #2:&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Culture<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:Georgia, serif;\">Scads have been written about company \u201cculture\u201d&#8230; but what does it mean, and how does it relate to employee health?&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"background-color:transparent;color:#000000;font-family:Georgia, serif;\">Most small business owners liken company culture to game nights and regular Zooming. Let\u2019s broaden that horizon. Have you ever considered how power is\u2026 well\u2026 empowering? Some measures protect and respect focus.
